When my brother and his wife asked me back in May if I wanted to do the great south run I thought it was a great idea! I haven’t done a race this long (or of any length beyond 5k) in a very long while…in fact the last time I did the GSR was 8 years ago, when I was younger, fitter, had one less small child at home and worked less hours! My knees are already falling out with me over the training so unlike my 2015 self aiming for a “good time”, I’ll be pleased just to cross the finish line.

Anyway, enough about me and my aching knees…here’s the reason you’re here. I teach in an amazing school for children with SEND. Times are hard for schools at the moment and finding the funds for much needed resources is really tough. I teach in the early years and we desperately need resources for our outdoor area. The Children love to be outside and a well resourced outdoor provision is not only great for physical development, but also supports the children’s well being, aiding their emotional and sensory regulation. Please give what you can to support our fantastic school and help to give our wonderful children the very best start to their school life. And give my knees a great reason to be ruined 😬
