For those who don't know, I'm Merseyside Police's Force Champion for the Police Treatment Centre. It goes without saying that I would chose to raise funds for this amazing Charity and safe place for Police Officers & Staff who require physiotherapy and mental health/ wellbeing care.

Not content with running a half marathon in 2022, winning a gold & silver in athletics 2 months later, then cycling a half marathon in 2023, and 2 months later winning a silver in athletics .....

I'm now challenging myself to trek up Mount Kilimanjaro with fellow emergency services colleagues!

Having undergone shoulder surgery in January 2024 and being discharged from physio after an ankle injury, I needed something else to train for mentally & physically.

Mount Kilimanjaro is a dormant volcano in Tanzania. With three volcanic cones — Kibo, Mawenzi and Shira — it is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest single free-standing mountain above sea level in the world: 5,895 m above sea level and 4,900 m above its plateau base

This gruelling 11 day trip will certainly test my physical strength and mental ability to complete one of Africa's highest peaks .

I will also have to live without my hair & make up luxuries, something I'm not looking forward to!
