Story
As part of Altrad, I am supporting the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) who are taking a stand against suicide. That means standing against feeling hopeless, standing up to stereotypes, and standing together to show life is always worth living.
At Altrad we are committed to building a culture of care – one where everyone feels safe enough to be their authentic selves, and where mental health is valued just as much as physical health.
We are proud to partner with Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) to reflect our belief that wellbeing should be woven into every part of working life, for every role, in every location.
One in four of us will experience suicidal thoughts in our lifetime, and suicide is the biggest killer of men under fifty. But this partnership is not about statistics – it is about people. Mental health affects all of us, and we are committed to making sure everyone at Altrad feels supported and heard.
Starting on 1st November 2025, I will be swimming an incredible 37km – the length of Loch Ness – 1472 lengths – to raise funds for this essential cause. Each stroke I take will symbolize the fight against loneliness and hopelessness. Every £12.20 raised can fund one potentially life saving call to our helpline, helping someone find the support they desperately need.
I invite you to join me in this journey of hope and resilience. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those who are struggling. Please consider donating towards my target of £500; your generosity could help save a life
