Some of the staff working on the Salford Radiology Day Case Unit (SRDCU), the Intervention Radiology team and family members (Claire Watson, Gully Adam, Holly Naji, Jardel Morris, Lydia Massey, Sophia Esposito and Vicky Newbould, Lee Newbould) are taking part in the Yorkshire Dales Three Peaks challenge to raise money for equipment to enhance the patient experience of having a lung biopsy.

The Salford Radiology Day Case unit opened in January 2025 with newly appointed Ward Manager Deepa Mathew. We are currently dedicated to providing excellent care for patients requiring Lung Biopsies and other Interventional Radiology procedures.

Many of the patients we care for are having diagnostic procedures as part of the NHS Targeted Lung Health Check (TLHC). Early detection and treatment of lung cancer can significantly increase survival rates. TLHC is a national scheme for individuals aged 55-74 years who have previously smoked and are registered with a GP. Please see your GP for further information.
