adidas Manchester Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·

We are a mental health awareness and suicide prevention charity for people working and living in rural and agricultural communities, and their support networks, across Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire. Founded by Kate Scott and Lewis Hunter to create a positive legacy in memory of their brothers, Robert and Max, who both lost their lives to suicide, our aim is to to make vital support, training and education accessible to everyone who needs it in communities we care passionately about. To help people see that there is hope. To stop them reaching the same crisis point as Robert and Max. And to prevent other families going through what Kate and Lewis’ families have experienced.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I’m running the Manchester marathon 2025 in honour of my friend Kate, who tragically lost her brother to suicide. His passing has been a painful reminder of how crucial mental health support is, especially in rural communities where resources can be scarce. I’m fundraising for the Rural Communities Mental Health Foundation, which works tirelessly to provide accessible mental health care in these underserved areas. By running, I hope to raise awareness and funds to ensure others don’t have to face the same heartache Kate and her family have endured. Your support will make a real difference—thank you for helping me honour his memory and support this vital cause.

Training for this marathon has been a great challenge. After running the Manchester marathon last year, I’ve been focusing on a mix of marathon training runs, strength training, and Hyrox sessions at my gym, The Unit in Godmanchester. The group sessions have been really helpful in keeping me on track, and my coaches have been a great support throughout. It’s tough at times, but it’s all worth it knowing I’m running to support a cause that means a lot to me.
