Story
I’m running the Manchester Marathon in support of Maddy’s Mark, a charity that has become incredibly close to my heart.
Maddy’s Mark is dedicated to supporting the mental well-being of girls and young women by building resilience, confidence, and a sense of belonging. Through school programmes and partnerships with local clubs, they make rugby accessible to every girl who wants to play, while teaching lessons that go far beyond the sport itself.
Because not all battles are fought on the pitch.
This charity means so much to me because I have seen the impact of its work first-hand. When Maddy’s Mark visited my daughter’s school, they gave her something far more valuable than a rugby lesson—they gave her confidence. They reinforced the importance of believing in herself and recognising her own worth, something we have always encouraged at home.
Watching rugby players stand in front of a group of 10-year-old girls and tell them they are strong, capable, and enough was incredibly powerful. Those words stay with them. They inspire confidence, resilience, and the courage to believe in themselves, and I saw that change in my own daughter.
Maddy’s Mark was founded in memory of Maddy Lawrence, whose courage, kindness, love of rugby, and incredible zest for life continue to inspire so many people. Her legacy lives on by helping girls discover their own strength, both on and off the pitch.
That’s why I’m running the Manchester Marathon.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help Maddy’s Mark continue inspiring more girls to believe in themselves, build confidence, and discover the life-changing power of sport.
If you’re able to support me, you’ll be helping this amazing charity continue Maddy’s legacy and ensure that many more young girls have the opportunity to grow, thrive, and realise just how much they are capable of.
Thank you so much for your support—it truly means the world.
