Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Horses for Wellbeing is dedicated to leveraging the transformative power of equine-facilitated learning (EFL) to enhance emotional and mental well-being among young people. The ground based EFL sessions aim to cultivate personal growth, resilience, self-esteem, and emotional regulation by harnessing the unique connection between horses and humans.

In the UK, alarming statistics from NHS Online reveal that in 2023:

• 1 in 5 children and young people aged 8 – 25 are struggling with probable mental disorders.

This crisis is no different in Gloucestershire, when in 2022:

• 25% of children face social, emotional, and mental health challenges.

• 21% have speech, language, and communication needs.

Without early intervention and support, children with additional needs are lacking crucial opportunities for growth and development. These vulnerable children not only have limited support and resources but are also experiencing multiple Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE’s). Tragically, 10.8% of them endure regular bullying, leading to a significant decline in their mental wellbeing.

Due to financial constraints, many of the children in need are unable to access the services provided by Horses for Wellbeing. I firmly believe that every child should have the chance to strive, regardless of their financial circumstances.

I am raising money so that places can be offered to children free of charge. The more I raise, the more children I can help!!
