Walking a Half Marathon · 29 June 2024

We’re on a mission to save lives. We’re doing this by placing a mental health lead at every rugby club around the world & providing them with a toolkit of free resources designed to support the wellbeing of players, coaches & fans. Join the movement, & together we can #TackleTheStigma.

Story

As some people may be aware Eilah suffers from anxiety, and it has a huge impact on her life and holds her back from trying new things or having new experiences.

Last year we took her to her first rugby match at Twickenham to watch the Red Roses and she fell in love with the sport and wanted to start playing. So we took her along to our local rugby club, Leighton Buzzard Rugby Club, and encouraged her to give it a try. She was extremely apprehensive of starting something new (even though it was her idea and she fell in love with the sport), but with the guidance of her coaches she overcame that anxiety and came out of her shell.

Fast forward a year and she has come on leaps and bounds in her confidence and rugby is a real outlet for her anxiety. She still has some attacks and we are working on those, but rugby is the one thing that helps balance her.

So this year she decided that she was going to undertake another big challenge for little legs and will be walking the distance of a half marathon for LooseHeadz. Their mission is simple; to place a mental health lead into every rugby club around the world, and equip them with a toolkit of resources to help #TackleTheStigma. This is a value resource within the rugby community and will go on to help so many people who not only suffer with anxiety but far more severe mental wellbeing issues.

If you could sponsor Eilah, no matter how small, I know she would appreciate it.
