Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Over the last few years I have found a passion for running, not only has it been great for my physical health but it has also been great for my mental health. I have struggled with my own mental health and understand the profound impact of feeling isolated by one's thoughts and the pressures amplified by social media. The mere thought of seeking support once filled me with shame and hesitation, despite knowing its potential benefits. However, through running I have made great connections and it has provided me with the time and space to quiet the turbulence within my thoughts and emotions, offering a sanctuary for inner calm and personal growth.
I decided to run for JAMI because their mission really resonates with me. JAMI provides crucial mental health support to individuals and families within the Jewish community, ensuring that they have access to the care and resources they need. Mental health is a critical issue that affects countless lives, and the stigma surrounding it often prevents people from seeking help especially with the ever-increasing influence of social media which has only exacerbated this stigma.
By taking part in the London marathon and fundraising for JAMI, I hope to contribute to breaking down barriers and promoting a culture of supporting one another and enabling everyone to wholeheartedly embrace their unique selves. I'm not just running for those who, like me, have battled with the fear of opening up but I'm also running to spotlight the pressing need for change. I want to send a clear message that no one should ever feel afraid to live life authentically and free from the weight of mental health. Every pound raised will help JAMI continue their vital work, making a real difference in the lives of those struggling with mental health challenges.
Thank you so much for your support :)
