Story
Well… it looks like I’m going to run a marathon! (lol.)
But not just any marathon – the actual LONDON MARATHON.
“Why?” you ask. Well, let me tell you a little story...
For those who don’t know much about me, Hi! I’m Victoria. I’m fast approaching 30, and my current hobby seems to be impulsively signing up for things that are a little bit mad - but here we are.
You might know me from line dancing, crown green bowling, the gym, or out and about with my dog Ruby. 🐾
But something that not many people know about me is that in July 2024, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). This came about after suddenly losing vision in my right eye back in December 2022. What followed was numerous hospital visits, scans, and tests, until the diagnosis finally landed. One that completely changed how I see life, quite literally and figuratively.
MS is an unpredictable condition that affects the brain and spinal cord. It damages the protective coating around nerves (myelin), leading to a wide range of symptoms — from vision problems to difficulties with movement, balance, and thinking.
Everyone's MS journey is different. I don’t know exactly what mine will look like in the future...
But what I do know is this: I want to help the MS Society continue their incredible work.. providing vital support, funding life-changing research, and pushing for better treatments — until the day we stop MS in its tracks.
Every donation, no matter how small, genuinely makes a difference.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story.
Victoria x
