Story
How could we NOT do this again for the 3rd year, each year trying to push ourselves to warrant the donations. 1st year we ran and pushed the wheelchair as a group. 2nd year Vikki pushed the wheelchair on her own. How could Vikki even say 'I don't want to do it again', when Ed said he will walk the last 100 metres. This will be extremely hard for Ed so Vikki pushing the wheelchair to get the the 100 metres is easy...right!!! Come and cheer Ed on. Ed has been training with the great physios at Care for Veterans.
Ed's story - On 7th December 2023, Ed suffered with a stroke, with a bleed on the brain requiring brain surgery to save his life leaving him with left side paralysis, unable to get out of bed. Everyday has been hard for him and the family, but with a years rehabilitation and determination he got home in November 2024, only being home a week suffered a second stroke, this one being a clot and not so severe but still affected him. After 6 weeks in hospital got home again.
We have been so lucky to have had a place at Care for Veterans, during his first period of rehabilitation. Ed visits the home once a week for physio and to enjoy the wellbeing hub, what else could we do but raise some funds.
