Story
Making Every Step Count
In October 2026, together with a group of Citi colleagues, I will be taking on a once in a lifetime challenge: a 14 day trek through the heart of the Himalayas. This journey will take us through some of the world’s most breathtaking — and demanding — terrain, and I’m doing it in support of a cause that is incredibly close to my heart: The Felix Project.
Through this challenge, I have set myself a personal fundraising goal of £3,350, with every pound going directly towards helping people across London who are struggling to put food on the table.
Why The Felix Project Matters
The Felix Project is London’s largest food redistribution charity, rescuing surplus food and delivering it to nearly 1,200 frontline charities and community groups. Every single week, this food helps feed around 500,000 people — families, children, the elderly — who might otherwise go hungry.
In a city as wealthy as London, it’s heartbreaking that food insecurity remains such a harsh reality for so many. The Felix Project doesn’t just provide meals; it offers dignity, hope, and reassurance to people when they need it most.
A Little About Me
Sport and outdoor adventures have always shaped who I am. Growing up, squash was my passion — I was fortunate enough to become a Indian National Junior Squash Champion and an All American Varsity athlete. When competitive sport took a back seat, I found that same drive and fulfilment in the outdoors.
Over the years, I’ve challenged myself by running adventure marathons along the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu and even in Antarctica (yes, I actually ran them!), climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, and trekking parts of the Great Wall of China.
Along the way, I’ve been privileged to support and raise funds for charities such as City Squash, Asha for Education, Seeing is Believing, and Place2Be. Giving back has always been as important to me as the challenge itself.
The Challenge Ahead
This expedition will include trekking through the Himalayas and pushing both physical and mental limits. But this journey isn’t just about the mountains or the miles. It’s about making each step meaningful.
How You Can Help
Supporting The Felix Project feels like the perfect way to turn personal challenge into real world impact. While I train for the demanding trek ahead, your generosity will help rescue more surplus food and ensure it reaches those who need it most across our city.
Every donation — big or small — will make a tangible difference. Together, we can help ensure that fewer people in London go to bed hungry.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story and for any support you’re able to give. It truly means more than I can say.
Cheers,
Vinay
