"I would like to challenge myself again this year by doing the Leeds 10k run yet again. Yes you heard I am doing it again to beat my time.

The money being raised will be going towards a good cause. The Haematology Oncology Day Unit (HODU) at Airedale Hospital in Steeton is where I received treatment so I would like to give back more to them again.

My aim is to raise £500. The staff on the ward have become really good friends to me and it feels like a second home, like a second family. They have done so much for me when I was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin's lymphoma, from ward rounding to giving me a lot of support - very good moral support, two years ago. Even to this day they still give me the time to say hello, even though they are extremely busy. All the staff also works very hard to help patients through there challenging times/through cancer.

I am currently a patient attending follow up appointments in remission, but I still go up to visit the team to say hello I still take them up the biscuits every so often. They let me sit up there for when it's not extremely busy. I also still carry out volunteer work at the main shop at Airedale and will be putting my name down to become a porter at Airedale this year.

My wish is for the donation to help with improvements for the HODU facilities for patients in the future."
