Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my just giving page -

2023 marks a few big birthdays in our family as Tom turns 100,Gez turns 50 and Ella turns 18. We’ve decided to mark it with a fundraiser for Vinnies which is a charity that’s close to our heart. Our plan had been for Tom to walk 100 laps of a route next to his home to make up a 5 mile walk but then he broke his femur. He’s now planning 100 lengths of the corridor in the care home he’s moved to. Ella has committed to run 100 100s (10k) which for a rugby player who hates running is no mean feat. Then in September Gez is going to run 100 miles in the Pilgrims Ultra in Northumberland. Any donations in these tough times would be very gratefully accepted however small.

Vinnies is part of the SVP organisation in Newcastle that Tom volunteered for for many years and which Gez and Ella now cook food for each week. They provide a drop in centre for people and families in need with hot meals, clothing, toiletries, clothing and essential food parcels. They also offer support services to families on housing, asylum and other welfare matters. Anyone can come to them for help and they really are a safe haven for so many people.
