Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

Hi! Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We’re both excited (and a little nervous!) to be taking on the Hackney Half Marathon this May. We’re running to raise funds for Parkinson’s UK, a cause that has become deeply personal to us.

In December 2023, my dad was diagnosed with Parkinson’s, a progressive neurological condition that affects the brain. Since his diagnosis, we’ve seen firsthand how it impacts his daily life. It’s been tough, but it’s also shown us just how strong he is and how much amazing support is out there.

Parkinson’s is a condition without a cure, and over 145,000 people in the UK are living with it today. Organisations like Parkinson’s UK have been a light for so many families, including ours. They provide crucial resources, guidance, and hope while also funding groundbreaking research to improve treatments and, one day, find a cure.

Every bit of support, whether it’s a donation, sharing our story, or cheering us on from the sidelines - means the world to us. Together, we can help Parkinson’s UK continue their life-changing work and bring hope to so many families.

Thank you for being part of this journey with us!

Marie & Vinorshan :)
