In November last year I started volunteering at Animal Rescue Charity in Bishops Stortford. On my first day, I fell in love with a little terrier called Otis. I ended up walking him 2x a day every Friday. Two weeks after meetng him, Rob and I ended up emailing our landlord asking for his permission to adopt Otis. Otis' owner sadly passed away and he ended up in the kennel. When I started volunteering in ARC, I was told he had already been adopted twice but in both cases he was returned after a few days. I couldn't believe it. He is absolutely amazing. After almost one month of stressful waiting, our landlord agreed for us to adopt Otis. However, we had to wait one more month as we went to visit my family in Slovakia for Christmas. We landed back to the UK on the 1st of January and took a taxi straight to the ARC to get him.

He has been a part of our family since. He is incredible. He loves running, cycling, chasing waves as well as train and car journeys and is always up for a new adventure. We couldn't be happier.

Since we got him, I haven't had time to volunteer with ARC again. However, I would love to give something back. On the 28th April, we will be running a 10km race with Otis at the UK trail running festival and we would love to raise money for this amazing charity!
