Raising funds to transform the patient day rooms in the Care for the Elderly wards at the Princess of Wales Hospital into safe, warm, inviting, comfortable spaces for social, dining and wellbeing activities for patiens.

Story

The ‘Care for the Elderly’ ward day rooms, in the Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend is just such an important project as currently the two large ward day rooms are unusable most of the year (too cold, unsuitable furniture, not pleasant or relaxing spaces). Instead Daring to Dream wants to transform the day rooms into warm, homely, bright and safe environments.

Many patients will benefit greatly by being encouraged to be more mobile, to dress and walk to one of the day rooms to have coffee and a chat, to sit around a table to eat their lunch and to also take part in some activities that will support their wellbeing.

Crucially, this will assist with a smoother (and sooner) transition back to their own home.

Thank you so much for your support.
