The Tamil Information Centre (TIC), one of the pioneering human rights and research institutes, has been dedicated to preserving the archives and historical materials of Tamil-speaking people from Ilankai/Sri Lanka since 1979.

Today, through our History and Heritage Programme — in partnership with our charity, the Centre for Community Development (CCD) — we are taking on a vital mission:

to safeguard our history, culture, struggles, successes, lifestyles, and collective memories for future generations.

TIC holds a treasure trove of historical materials — affidavits, photographs, posters, notices, publications — offering a unique window into our past. By preserving them, we ensure our stories live on.

The archive will be an incredible resource for scholars, students, and researchers across disciplines like history, sociology, anthropology, literature, and the arts.

Our Mission: The Tamil Heritage Archiving Project

Together, CCD and TIC have launched the Tamil Heritage Archiving Project — a major effort to digitise, preserve, and protect these priceless historical collections before they are lost to time.

But to make this vision a reality, we need your support.

In 2025, we are organising a Charity Walk, and every donation — big or small — will take us closer to establishing a permanent Tamil Heritage Archive Centre in the UK.
