Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Shiresmill Therapy Riding Centre is a small charity, member of the Riding for the Disabled (RDA) based in Scotland. They support children from the age of 5. Open to all types of disabilities and abilities. They provide hippotherapy, fun and supportive riding sessions to develop their self-esteem, confidence, and life skills while also improving movement and motor skills.

My son Luca has mild Cerebral Palsy and attends the riding sessions, which are incredibly helpful. The cost for running the services and looking after the horses is very high. They need new ponies, new roof for the riding centre, food and care for the horses, as well as training for the volunteers to best support their clients such as Luca.

I will be running the Scottish Half Marathon and Luca will be joining me, in the last mile. Last year he got scared and did not manage to run with me, panick attack. I will be working with Luca in the next few months to practice and rehearse and fingers crossed, he will run the last mile with me. He will run with his hard plastic splints to inspire other children with Cerebral Palsy that they can do anything.

Thank you for your donation, it means a lot for them, as a small charity making a big impact.

Luca and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Cheers

Viv
