Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity, operates across the UK: supporting anyone affected by the death of a baby; working in partnership with health professionals to ensure that bereaved parents and families receive the best possible care; and promoting improvements in practice and funding research that could help to reduce the loss of babies’ lives.

Our beautiful grandson, Elliott, was born on 18th July 2023, apparently fit and healthy. The joy felt by all soon changed to despair and grief, as he died on 20th July. No reason has been found for his death.

Our daughter, son-in-law and their 3 year old daughter, Elliott’s sister, were helped by SANDS and other organisations, as they struggled to come to terms with this terrible loss. Such organisations can only continue to help families in similar situations if they have the funds to do so. We would ask you to help us raise as much as we can as we walk the 10 mile SANDS trek around Derwent Water in September.
