Story
We are a crew of 5 women from the Isle of Ely Rowing Club who are passionate about rowing and protecting our rivers. We spend countless hours training on the water, and we've witnessed firsthand the challenges that our rivers face. That's why we're taking on the Vogalonga, a 30km rowing event in Venice, to raise money for the Rivers Trust.
The Rivers Trust is a charity dedicated to protecting and restoring rivers across the UK. They work to improve water quality, conserve wildlife, and promote the enjoyment of rivers for everyone.
By supporting our challenge, you'll be helping the Rivers Trust continue their vital work. Your donation will help to:
💧 Improve water quality for people and wildlife
🐟 Restore habitats for fish and other river creatures
🙌 Make rivers more accessible for everyone to enjoy
What else can you do? The Rivers Trus runs a citizen science program called the Big Rivers Watch twice a year. It is a way for people to help monitor the health of rivers in the UK and Ireland. You can participate by downloading the Big River Watch app and completing a short survey about the health of their local river.
