Words About Games x Safe In Our World

Amy ALEXANDER is raising money for Safe In Our World

Streaming Marathon

Our main goal is to create and foster worldwide mental health awareness within the video game industry; to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health, to make it a natural topic of discussion, and to promote mental health dialogue so people are not afraid to reach out for help if they need it.

Story

The Words About Games team are back with a brand new fundraiser!

New milestone goals, new charity, same idiots!

This time around we are raising money for the Safe In Our World charity!

The main goal of Safe In Our World is to create and foster worldwide mental health awareness within the video game industry; to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health, to make it a natural topic of discussion, and to promote the dialogue surrounding mental health so people are not afraid to reach out for help if they need it.

2024 was a rough year for the video game industry, and in particular the people who work hard to make the amazing games that we all love so much. So now it's our turn to give something back.

Just like last time, we have a series of milestones that will unlock when we hit our goals.

-----------------------------------

At £50 - The gang rank Mass Effect’s characters

Last year, we ranked our top 100 video games of all time. It turns out that we didn’t agree on much. One thing all three of us agree on is that Mass Effect is a great series. So we’re going to rank all of the characters! Our ranking system has been much improved, to provide a better experience for us and for anyone in chat.

At £100 - Vitz plays Alien: Isolation

One of the most anticipated Twitch streams in Words About Games history. Vitz, a person who does not handle scary games very well, will play Alien: Isolation, one of the most anxiety inducing horror games of recent times. Not only will they play, but they have to at least reach and get past the first encounter with the titular alien. They will also have a heart rate monitor attached.

At £150 - Moody plays a “Souls” game

What would a Words About Games charity fundraiser be without forcing Moody to play a game he’s never played before, and probably won’t like? He’s finally free from Halo and will be taking his first steps into the brave new world of a “Souls” game. With guidance from Amy (although she’s not sure what guidance she can offer beyond “don’t get hit”).

At £200 - Amy plays a Mystery Game: Turbo Edition

At the last fundraiser, Amy played a mystery game. She knew what it would be, but she kept it a secret from Twitch chat. And Moody. This time, she has given Moody too much power, and will allow him to choose a game for her to play. Any game. At all. She doesn't know what the game is, and won't know until shortly before the stream.

At £250 - Legally Distinct 90s Game Shows: Round 2

Amy and Moody will once again put themselves through a gauntlet of video game trivia and general knowledge in the spectacular return of Legally Distinct 90s Game Shows. Vitz is cooking up something special once again in the quiz show kitchen, and this is one you won't want to miss.

At £300 - A 12-Hour Marathon Stream

Like last time, once we hit our goal and have done our other milestone streams, it's time to hang out all day on Twitch. We'll have silly games, big chats, absurd challenges and plenty of stretch goals to make this a fun stream.

We'll be streaming every Saturday at 7PM between milestones to support the fundraiser and hang out, so if you don't want to miss any of the shenanigans, head over to http://twitch.tv/wordsaboutgames and hit that follow button!

(Start date of regular streams TBD)
