Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a free book gifting scheme for eligible children in the Wakefield district.

Books are sent free in the post every month to every child enrolled in the initiative until their fifth birthday.

The Imagination Library was set up by Dolly Parton in 2007 to inspire a love of reading in the hearts of children everywhere.

Reading helps to promote bonding and communication, growing a child’s vocabulary by exposing them to new words, and teaching listening skills, all vital to their future academic success.

Our book gifting scheme would not be possible without the generosity of our supporters, donors and corporate partners.

£0.96 in every £1 donated goes directly towards books for more children in the district.

• £2.16 funds a book for a month to a child
