Story
On October 16th I'm taking part in 'Lon Las Cymru' where I'll be running over 250 miles non stop across Wales in aide of the B30 Foodbank.
The race starts at 7am in Holyhead, follows cycle route 8, the Taff trail, crosses several mountain ranges and finishes in Cardiff Bay. There is a tight 88 hour cut off (11pm on Sunday)
There will be an outdoor water station approximately every 25 miles.
My food, spare clothes, sleeping bag etc will be in my drop bag that I'll have access to every 50 miles.
Mile 50 checkpoint is outdoors with drop bag access.
There are 3 indoor checkpoints with drop bag access. Mile 100 (no sleeping) Miles 150 and 200 (space to sleep)
The use of shops and pubs is permitted, hotels and vehicles aren't.
My first fundraiser for the B30 Foodbank was back in 2016. During that year over 1,000,000 emergency food parcels were given out across the UK, a third of these to children. The UKs hunger problem is getting worse, unfortunately more than 3,000,000 of these will be given out this year.
