Story
Best Start Family Hubs Redditch and Bromsgrove are coming together to honour the memory of our much loved and deeply respected colleague, Jenny Dennis, who dedicated over 16 years to supporting families across our hubs. Jenny sadly passed away in December 2025 after being diagnosed cholangiocarcinoma, also known as a rare bile duct cancer. Her kindness, humour, and commitment to families left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of working with her.
To celebrate Jenny’s life and continue her legacy of helping others, our team is hosting a sponsored walk from Forge Mill Needle Museum to Arrow Valley Lake in Redditch. All funds raised will go directly to AMMF, a charity very close to Jenny’s family’s hearts, supporting research and those affected by cholangiocarcinoma.
Jenny’s family shared that they loved the idea of a sponsored Heritage Walk from Forge Mill Needle Museum to Arrow Valley Lake, especially as it doubles as a team away day, something Jenny famously disliked. They felt the irony was perfectly “Jen” and were happy for us to set up a donation link that includes a little nod to her well‑known reluctance for team events.
Any donation, no matter the size, is truly appreciated. Every penny raised will help AMMF continue vital work supporting individuals and families facing this rare cancer.
Together, we walk in memory of Jen - celebrating her life, her laughter, and the incredible difference she made.
