Story
Our amazing Jacqui battled cancer courageously for years. We were heartbroken when her health faltered and spent several difficult weeks in hospital.
Jacqui made the decision to move to a hospice and this is where we first experienced Willow Wood Hospice and the amazing care the people there provide for those going through the worst imaginable time.
No one ever wants to think they will need a a place like Willow Wood Hospice. But when the time does come it is so important that places like this are here.
For families like ours, it was where we could finally see Mum reach a point where she could be more comfortable and restful. It not only allows, but is centered around being a place all family can visit and be with loved ones at the end.
The gardens are beautiful and a real part of the calm and tranquil atmosphere that helps soothe its patients and families. They offer after care and counselling. The staff are truly angels, some come in on their days off with therapy dogs. They cannot help enough without ever being intrusive and the person in front of them is treated with such gentle care and dignity. And this amazing space needs funds to keep providing its help to families like ours.
We are, as a group- kids as well- walking 5k to try and raise money for Willow Wood. Please help us help them by giving whatever you can using the 'Donate' button. The more people that know about Willow Wood Hospice, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing this page with your friends and family.
