100k Camino De Santiago walk · 14 September 2024

St Luke’s is an independent charity caring for terminally ill adults and their loved ones across Sheffield. Each year, we care for around 1,900 patients most of whom are cared for in their own home by our Specialist Palliative Care Community team.

Story

My cousin, James Lawson tragically passed away earlier this year after several years of a fight with bowel cancer.

James was and remains an inspiration to us all. He leaves behind his wife, Carys and his gorgeous baby son, Logan, his sister Bex and his parents, Bob and Lynda and of course, all of us that knew him and had the privilege of spending time with him.

I will never forget his fighting spirit throughout his illness and his participation in the many physical challenges he set for himself, which included running numerous marathons.

For those that knew James, our lives will never be the same and we miss him.

This September, James's dad, Bob and I plan to walk the last 100k of the Camino de Santiago, Northern Spain in James' memory and to raise funds for St Luke's, Hospice in Sheffield where James recieved such amazing care.

Please help us keep James's memory alive and give what you can.

Here's to James, a true Northern soul.
