Walk for Renèe 2026
Following on from the success of 2025's 'Walk for Renee' fundraiser, on Saturday 12th September 2026, we will be walking 50km from Runnymede to Putney for the 2nd time!
With options from 5km to the full 50km, and a potential slight route change from last year, we will be taking on the challenge again in loving memory of Renee Bessell, raising funds for ALK Positive Lung Cancer UK.
This event is as much about raising awareness as it is about raising funds to help those affected.
We would like to reiterate that you do not need to have known Renèe or Ross to participate. So if you have any friends/family/colleagues etc. that would be interested in taking part, please encourage them to sign up!
Renèe had a rare form of lung cancer called ALK Positive. Caused by a genetic mutation and unrelated to smoking, it most often affects young, healthy non-smokers, frequently women. Tragically, it is usually undetectable until it reaches Stage 4, when there is no cure.
Her husband, Ross, is leading this event to raise vital funds for the charity that supports ALK Positive patients and their families.
