Story
We're taking part in Walk Together 2025 to help children with cerebral palsy, chromosome abnormalities and rare genetic disorders take their first steps towards independence.
Every child deserves the chance to reach their full potential- but for the children supported by Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity (DVLCC), that journey is filled with extra challenges.
By walking, I’m helping raise funds for life-changing early intervention, therapy and family support so that these incredible children can work towards a life changing milestone that was once thought impossible.
In 2023 Myself, Pete and Fionn welcomed little Rian into our world. Rían was born with Prader-Willi Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder caused by the loss of function of specific genes on the paternal chromosome 15. It affects multiple systems in the body and is primarily known for problems related to growth, metabolism, behavior, and appetite regulation.
Some of the common symptoms is developmental delays and low muscle tone.
Through weekly interventions with the incredible team at Dame Vera Lyn we've seen Rían make incredible strides towards independence. Without weekly sessions Rian would struggle to grow stronger and learn how to mobilise himself.
DVLCC are a non-profit organisation who rely solely on the generosity of people such as yourselves. Without DVLCC's help, we would not be able to afford the necessary interventions to help Rían thrive in the way that he currently is, and like so many others we need your support to allow this incredible organisation do the work they love and continue to help other children like Rian.
Please join me by signing up at www.dvlcc.org.uk or kindly leave a donation – every penny is truly transformational.
Together, we can give these amazing children the best possible start in life, one step at a time.
Thank you for your support.
