Walk from Totnes · 11 November 2022

The Kanyike villagers trust and respect us as we have been working with them since 1986. We provide consistent funding to kick-start a sustainable way of life. Fr. Kakuba has been the driving force behind the vision of empowering local villagers to support themselves.

Story

All of the pupils and staff at St Christopher's will be walking from Totnes to Staverton to raise money for the Kanyike Project.

We are the leading UK charity helping the Kanyike villagers. 90% of them live in poverty. They trust and respect us as we have been working with them since 1986. Together with our partner charity in Uganda (Kainsude - Kanyike Initiative for Sustainable Development), we provide consistent, regular and ever increasing funding to kick-start a self-sufficient and sustainable way of life.

The project began in 1986 in an area devastated by many years of war by Fr. Kakuba Kapia, the driving force behind the vision of empowering members of the local community to support themselves.
