A 25km walk for Food Bank Aid

Richard Romain is raising money for Food Bank Aid

Ultra Challenge Windsor 25k · 18 April 2026

Food Bank Aid was set up in April 2020 in response to the increase in numbers of people attending food banks due to the impact of Covid. Sadly, with the current cost of living crisis food banks remain in desperate need. Food Bank Aid supports 33 food banks who help over 20,600 people every week.

Story

After much deliberation and a little coercion - I have decided to take part in the 25km Windsor Ultra Challenge on the 18th April 2026 taking us on a journey through Windsor Great Park, the Thames footpath and surrounding countryside.

As some of you will already know, I spend hours out and about exploring the beautiful North London and Hertfordshire countryside by foot, which has given me much pleasure and enjoyment. Previously Emma and I completed a half marathon (20km) which was a huge achievement for me.

This time, we will push a little further and accompanied by my two daughters Vikki and Alix, complete 25km in aid of Food Bank Aid.

Food Bank Aid is a community-led charity supporting all denominations and demographics based across North London and Hertfordshire and helping around 20,000 people a week by distributing essential food and household goods to various food banks.

Please wish us luck and follow our progress….which, in my case,  will be very very slow!
