Story
In Memory of Jane Jelley 💜
We are fundraising in loving memory of Jane Jelley — a much-loved wife, mum and grandmother.
In January 2024, Jane was diagnosed with an extremely aggressive form of cancer, anaplastic thyroid cancer. Devastatingly, she passed away just two weeks after diagnosis. The speed of her illness was shocking and life-changing for all of us, and nothing could have prepared our family for how quickly everything happened.
During Jane’s final days, Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care supported her with extraordinary compassion, dignity and kindness. Their team cared for Jane with such warmth and respect, ensuring she was comfortable and surrounded by love when it mattered most.
Their support did not end there. Rennie Grove Peace has continued to care for our family since Jane’s passing, providing counselling and emotional support to her children and her granddaughter — help that has meant more to us than words can express.
This walk is being done in Jane’s memory by her husband, daughters and son-in-law (David, Grace, Natasha and Dave), as a small way of giving back to a charity that gave our family so much when we needed it most.
Rennie Grove Peace is a registered charity providing free, specialist care and support for adults and children with life-limiting illnesses across Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire. They support people from diagnosis onwards, helping families spend precious time together when every moment matters — whether in the home, the community, or their inpatient unit.
We are raising money in Jane’s memory to say thank you for the care she received, and to help ensure other families can receive the same compassion, dignity and support during the most difficult times of their lives.
If you are able to donate, no matter how small, it would mean so much to us and would be a wonderful way to honour Jane’s memory.
Thank you for your kindness and support 💜
