Story
What if one conversation could save a life?
Every day, people around us are fighting battles that nobody else can see. Too often, men suffer in silence, feeling unable to talk, ask for help, or reach out when they need it most.
That's why we're Walking Away.
In the 2026/27 season, the walkers will leave the centre spot at Oldham Athletic's Boundary Park and walk to the club's furthest away fixture of the season, covering more than 250 miles in just seven days.
But this isn't about football.
It's about mental health.
It's about breaking stigma, starting conversations and creating lasting support for those who need it most.
Working alongside Oldham Athletic Community Trust and Mentell, we're aiming to raise an incredible £250,000 to fund life-changing mental health initiatives across our communities.
£250,000 is a huge target.
💙 It's 50,000 people donating just £5.
💙 It's 25,000 people donating £10.
💙 It's thousands of opportunities for someone to find support, start a conversation and realise they are not alone.
Every mile walked represents someone who has struggled.
Every step is a reminder that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
Whether you donate £5 or £500, you become part of something much bigger than a fundraising challenge. You become part of a movement that is determined to make a difference.
Please support Walking Away and help us turn one extraordinary journey into a lasting legacy of hope, support and change.
Because £250,000 is a big number, but it's nothing compared to the value of a single life.
