Turning Pain into Purpose – In Memory of Darcy Hollinson 💜

In April 2021, Darcy took her own life at just 17 years old. She was a wonderful student at PHSG, a whirlwind, full of life, laughter and so much potential. The school was shaken to the core by the loss of such a young life.

At half term this year we tragically lost our beautiful Kelly, such a strong minded, talented and selfless person and school is not the same place without her.

Kelly had been in touch with Darcy’s family recently and was going to organise a team of her nearest and dearest, friends and colleagues to walk for Darcy to raise funds and awareness of suicide.

Our team is for them both, made up of many, many people that loved and respected Kelly and lots who taught Darcy and knew her fun loving ways. We want to help to provide much needed funds to support PAPYRUS and their vital phone line to support those in need, whenever they need it.

Right now, there are far too many young lives struggling in the darkness, being lost to suicide. On average, around five young people take their lives each day.

We MUST change that.

On 25th May 2025, we will walk 22 miles along Drake’s Trail (Tavistock to Plymouth) to mark the year that should have been Darcy’s 22nd birthday. This Memory Walk is not just a tribute to Darcy – it’s a call to action. A fight for those still here. A promise that hope will never be out of reach.

We are raising £22,000 for PAPYRUS, the national charity dedicated to preventing young suicide. PAPYRUS provides HOPELINE247, a life-saving helpline offering urgent support to young people in crisis.

Because hope CANNOT wait until morning.
