SUDEP Action is the only UK charity focused on stopping preventable epilepsy-related deaths. We provide the only free epilepsy bereavement service. Through research, policy and campaigns, we represent bereaved voices, raise awareness, learn from deaths and take action to save lives.

Story

In memory of our beautiful sister Emma, we’re taking part in the Kiltwalk to raise vital funds for SUDEP Action, a charity that works to prevent epilepsy-related deaths and support bereaved families like ours.

Emma lived with epilepsy her whole life. She was strong, bright, and full of love—but despite everything, epilepsy continued to be a constant challenge. In 2022, we heartbreakingly lost her to SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy), something we had never even heard of until it happened.

We’re walking to raise awareness of SUDEP and to help others understand the very real risks that epilepsy can carry—even when seizures seem “managed.” Too many people still don’t know SUDEP exists, and that needs to change.

SUDEP Action is the only UK charity dedicated to raising awareness of epilepsy risks, funding research, and supporting families who’ve experienced sudden loss like ours. They were there for us when we needed them most, and their work is vital in helping to prevent future tragedies.

We would be so grateful for any support you can give—whether it’s a donation, a share, or simply taking the time to learn about SUDEP. Every step we take is for Emma, and for the many others affected by epilepsy.

Thank you 💜
