Bryony's fundraiser for War Paws

Bryony Williams is raising money for War Paws

Welsh 100 highest peaks challenge in 30 days · 10 September 2026

War Paws was created to provide a voice and make the difference for the forgotten animals of war. We feel that the only way to make the difference that is needed is not to just try and remove the animals from war zones and areas of civil conflict, but instead, we aim to provide education for the local populations, provide information and encouragement on better animal welfare and animal husbandry and to promote happy and healthy ownership of animals.

Story

I am walking the 100 Highest Peaks in Wales in 30 Days for War Paws!!!!

I’m taking on the challenge of climbing the 100 highest peaks in Wales in just 30 days to raise money for War Paws, a charity that rescues, treats and cares for dogs caught up in conflict, dumped, or born on the streets. They have recently had the news that they are losing the ground where the shelter resides- meaning they need to raise as much as possible to move the shelter to continue caring for the dogs.

These dogs haven’t chosen the situations they’re in. They’ve lost homes, families and safety, regardless of the how or why War Paws works tirelessly to give them a second chance. Every dog deserves safety, care and a chance at a better life. Every donation will help support their incredible work.

To raise as much as I can, I’ll be completing this challenge completely alone. I’ll be camping throughout the journey, travelling only between mountain ranges and campsites by use of a car, then tackling the mountains on foot every day. There won’t be any support team—just me, my kit, and whatever the Welsh weather decides to throw at me.

This challenge is also personal. I live with ADHD, and while many people think it’s just being distracted or a bit quirky, the reality is very different. It affects every part of my life, from organisation and planning to emotional regulation, focus and self-belief. I’ve spent my whole life believing I’m hopeless, useless, incapable of making a difference, so taking on a challenge that demands consistency, discipline and resilience every single day will test me mentally just as much as it will physically.

2 months ago after realising the support for women with ADHD in my area was non-existent, I decided to fill the gap, creating ‘Neuro Not Typical Co’, a community for neurodivergent women who meet every other week currently for activity based sessions, but it’s more than that, it’s a place where you can drop the mask, forget trying to fit in, spend time with people who accept you as you are, have fun and form lasting connections. The women who have joined are the ones who make the community, the group chat has become a safe place to spill all things neurodivergent and that’s priceless. The women who have joined are just wonderful & I am so lucky to be a part of this.

I’m not doing this to prove anything about myself, I’m doing it because if putting myself through 30 tough days in the mountains can help raise money for dogs that have survived things far worse than I’ll ever face, then every difficult step will be worth it.

If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, you’ll be helping War Paws continue rescuing and caring for dogs in war zones. If you can’t donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean the world.

Thank you for your support 🐶 🙏
