May is a significant month for me, as not only do I celebrate my 26th birthday on the 1st, but it’s also the beginning of National Walking Month👣 and the month when we honor my wonderful Mum, who would be turning 60.💖

As many may know, my beautiful Mum lost her life in February 2024 after a rapid and fierce battle with lung cancer🫁. She was just 58 when she was officially diagnosed in January, and we said our final goodbyes three short weeks later.

Lung cancer is one of the most prevalent cancers, affecting 1 in 16 people in their lifetime, and it is the leading cause of cancer deaths, accounting for one out of every five cancer fatalities. Tragically, because many cases are diagnosed too late.

My little girl believes her Naana is now living on the moon, so throughout the month of May, I’ve set a challenge for myself: I’ll be walking to the moon and back!🌓✨ I aim to cover 477,710 steps throughout May to raise funds for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. My goal is to raise awareness and support funding for research into this heartbreaking disease, hoping to spare others the pain that our family has endured.
