Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page!

We're a group of friends who've (probably foolishly!) decided to walk 100km in under 24 hours - all in support of a charity that means a lot to us: The Butterfly AVM Charity.

Fourteen years ago, Alex's sister Nikki was diagnosed with a Craniofacial AVM. What began as a personal journey quickly became a mission: The Butterfly AVM Charity was founded to inform, support, and drive the research that saves lives. Since then, the charity has raised over £1,000,000, enhanced the lives of AVM patients and their loved ones worldwide, and supported pioneering studies at Great Ormond Street and Royal Free Hospitals in partnership with UCL - leading to treatments that have brought real hope to thousands.

Now, every step of our 100km journey pushes us further toward the next breakthrough. The progress we've made wouldn't be possible without your incredible generosity. Together, we're raising awareness; helping newly diagnosed individuals, and continuing to fund the vital research that brings us closer to lasting solutions.

Your support - whether £5 or £50 - truly matters. Every donation moves us forward in the fight against AVMs and helps change lives.

Much love,

The Walk Like a Butterfly AVM Team 🦋
