Story
In 2025, with the support of friends, my sister and I launched Walk of Bays, a community-driven 80 km walk around Lake of Bays in under 24 hours, inspired by the impact Leukemia and Lymphoma has had on families in the Lake of Bays Sailing community.
What started as a challenge quickly became something far bigger than we ever imagined. With the help of friends and the incredible support of the LBSC community, we raised over $43,000, surpassing our goal many times over and proving anythings possible when we collectively commit to one common goal.
Now we're eager to replicate and surpass that energy into August 2026, for a new cause close to home. This August, Walk of Bays will be fundraising for the Huntsville Hospital Foundation. Helping support local care, critical equipment, and families like yours across Muskoka who rely on the Huntsville Hospital every day.
To expand Walk of Bays reach across Muskoka, we have been working with Development Officers and Event Coordinators at the Huntsville Hospital to ensure significant promotion. This includes radio and local broadcasts, newspapers, interviews, flyers and race-day aid stations.
Speaking on behalf of the Lake of Bays community and Huntsville Hospital, we're incredibly proud to partner together and excited to see what we can accomplish this year for the Huntsville Hospital Foundation. If this hospital has ever helped you, know someone who has, or simply believe in strengthening care in our community, this is your chance to be part of it.

The healthcare needs of our residents, families and visitors are changing. Huntsville Hospital was built for a different time, with limitations that impact patient flow, privacy, and access to modern technology. Our healthcare teams need more space, better tools, and greater capacity to continue delivering the outstanding care our community deserves. The new hospital will be built for the future, bringing compassionate care, modern spaces, and advanced technology together to better support every patient and family. It means a new era of care for our community delivering better outcomes when it matters most.
Your donation will make a meaningful difference for everyone in and around Muskoka. Please donate today and help us reach our ‘Walk of Bays’ fundraising goal of $25,000. Thank you!
