Thank you for taking time to visit our JustGiving page.
Wallace House, Sherborne School is running a new event called the Static Turing Ride (based on the original Turing Ride). Participants from the Sherborne Schools Group and members of the public can sign up to undertake a four minute ride to compete to win prizes for the individual who rides the furthest, for the bike that rides the furthest and for the bike that raises the most amount of money. You are invited to support an individual bike (to help raise donations for a specific boarding house bike) or make a general donation to support this event and the fantastic Sherborne Voluntary Ambulance charity. If you would like to sponsor a specific bike, please include the boarding house or school in the message box when you make your donation.
Find out more about this amazing charity below.
Sherborne Voluntary Ambulance, also known as The Big Red Bus, is a local charity established to provide transport services for the elderly, disabled or socially isolated. Formed in 1977, we operate a 15-seater bus, equipped with a wheelchair hoist, for use by individuals and organisations, enabling them to tend to social and personal needs. We arrange outings, which include country and seaside expeditions, as well as theatre trips. We also work closely with local residential and nursing homes. Our passengers pay a small fee which contributes towards, but does not fully cover our day to day running costs. No regular income is given by official sources, and our team of volunteers work hard all year round to generate an income to cover our running costs. Donations are gratefully received.
