Hello to friends, family and others kind enough to visit this page, 

For those that know / follow me you will know that this is an important event to me and each year I make a point of "dusting off my daps" to take part in the Cancer Research Race for Life - something I have done every year since my first event in 2003!

Race for Life 2026 will be taking place on the 3rd May and Caroline (DQ) & I will once again be joined by local legend George Raven as we line up for a few laps of Bute Park – not to forget Chief Supporters Linda & Teresa who will be cheering us round the course!

This year will mark my 24th consecutive Race for Life event - all done at Bute Park / Cooper's Field, Cardiff as I try and do my little bit to raise awareness & also raise some much needed funds for the fight against cancer.

It seems that once again this terrible disease knows no boundaries and is unscrupulous in the way it continues to affect the lives of ordinary everyday folk. This past year has seen a few more friends and family starting treatment and continuing their fight.

Just before Christmas an old Army mate of mine from 41 Sqn RCT was taken far too early after a very short but courageous and dignified battle .

A group of us who served at 41 Sqn with Tommo were able to get "up north" and join her wife Haley, children Louis & Jess and a whole multitude of family & friends to celebrate her life. There were more than a few stories shared I can tell you - what a legend!

Once we have completed our trot around Bute Park we will retire to The Wanderers clubhouse where we will raise our finisher’s medals and a glass of the cold stuff to the memory of those who have sadly lost the fight, but will never be lost from our thoughts, to those who are currently fighting and anyone affected by what cancer can do.
