Story
I’m taking on two marathons just two weeks apart - Brighton and London - to raise money and awareness for Scope, a brilliant charity that works to end disability inequality in the UK.
I am choosing this charity because my sister, Lauren, works in one of their charity shops. Through her, I have seen firsthand the impact this charity has. This is not done by only raising money, but by supporting real people and challenging the barriers disabled people face every day.
Scope says it best themselves:
There are 16 million disabled people in the UK. That’s one in four of us. Life is harder when you’re disabled. You're twice as likely to be unemployed, getting care is a struggle and the cost of living is higher. It’s wrong and unacceptable.
Scope is working towards a future that’s fair to disabled people by changing attitudes, challenging injustice and creating real change.
I am incredibly grateful for every donation, each one gets me closer to the target and helps Scope continue their vital work.
Thank you so much for supporting me, and helping to end disability inequality.
We want a future that’s fair to disabled people, always. Together we’ll use our collective power to change attitudes and end the injustice.
