Story
7 Engineers. 310 Tonnes of Steel. Pure Grit for Wales Air Ambulance.
Most people climb mountains or walk marathons for charity. We decided to lift a commercial jet.
To raise vital funds for The Wales Air Ambulance Trust, a team of seven Airbus Broughton engineers are taking on the ultimate test of strength and pain. Our goal? To collectively squat, bench press, and deadlift 310 tonnes—the exact weight of TWO A350 aircraft, the largest passenger jet we manufacture here in Broughton.
The Math of the Grind:
310,000 kg total weight.
5,167 total repetitions at 60kg each.
738 brutal reps per engineer.
We are taking over Total Fitness in Wrexham, and once the barbell starts moving, we don’t stop until the jets are lifted. The Wales Air Ambulance is a mobile emergency department, providing life-saving care across the country 24/7, 365 days a year. They rely entirely on public donations to keep their helicopters airborne and rapid response vehicles on the road.
We are putting our bodies through the ringer so they can keep saving lives. Please back our team, show your support, and donate what you can today!
