Story
St John’s Hospice has been part of the local community for 40 years and provides vital service to patients and families all over our community. Our aim is to ensure that on the journey towards the end of life, we provide the right care, in the right place, at the right time. Our care will always be free to those who need it, but it isn’t cost free. It costs £602 per hour to run the hospice and all our services with only around a quarter of this amount provided by local NHS funding. The remaining three quarters must be raised through events, community donations, grants and legacies.
At the Wateredge we have nominated 4 staff members to take part in fundraising and skydiving! They have been set a target of £1760 (£440 each) in order to skydive for St John's. We do truly support the hard work St John's do, providing care for those who need it, at times they need it the most. As a site we are enthusiastic to be supporting them both financially and publicly. The work they carry out is invaluable to patients in and around our community.
