As-salamu alaykum

This is the family of Irfan Asghar. They clutch on to his only memory, a picture taken on his father's mobile phone.

Irfan and his family lost their home during the Pakistan Floods in Aug 2022. Along with 33 million others, they were affected by the biggest disaster in recent times with a 3rd of the country under water.

His family survived the floods, however, despite losing their home, they thought the nightmare was over. He continued drinking the water from his local pump, unknowing that this water had been polluted.

Weeks later, what started as a ticklish cough, ended up choking him. Irfan is one of 4 young children in his village who have died due to contaminated water. Almost 1million people are still forced to drink this water, which has mixed with the flood water and is carrying life threatening diseases.

It was devastating to watch his parents crying, his sister reliving their nightmare and breaking down. When I witnessed this, I pledged to help families overcome their loss in whatever power I have.

Human Appeal are installing water purification plants in villages like Irfans. For just £13,000 we can gift approximately 2000 people with safe drinking water.
