On Friday 4 September 2026, our Wates L&D team will be taking on the Surrey Three Peaks Challenge: a demanding 17 mile (27km) hike across some of Surrey's most beautiful countryside.

Starting at Box Hill, we'll tackle three iconic peaks, including Leith Hill, the highest point in Surrey, before finishing at Holmbury St Mary. With steep climbs, over 17 miles of walking, and plenty of sore legs expected along the way, this challenge will test our determination, resilience and team spirit.

We're taking on this challenge for a cause that means a great deal to us: Kangaroos, a fantastic charity that supports children, teenagers and adults with learning disabilities and additional needs across Mid Sussex.

Kangaroos provides year-round clubs, activities, trips and short breaks for people with severe learning disabilities, autism, mobility challenges, epilepsy and complex medical needs. Their work creates opportunities for individuals to build confidence, independence and lifelong friendships, while also providing invaluable respite and support for families and carers.

Their vision is a future where people with learning disabilities are valued and accepted by all, and every donation helps them continue delivering safe, supportive and life-enriching experiences for the people they support.

As we challenge ourselves to reach all three peaks, we're asking for your support to help us reach an even bigger goal: raising as much money as possible for Kangaroos.
