Story
Team members from Wates Developments are taking on the challenge of running or walking 5km everyday in September. With the deep heat and ice baths at the ready, the team would be very grateful if you could support their fundraising efforts for a very important charity, PAPYRUS.
PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide is the national charity dedicated to the prevention of young suicide.
PAPYRUS was set up in 1997 by parents who had lost their children to suicide, they felt that no family should have to go through the pain and heartbreak that they went through after losing their children. Since 1997, PAPYRUS has continued to listen to and learn from the experiences of those personally touched by young suicide. Today, PAPYRUS works in many ways to prevent young suicide
Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under 35 in the UK. Every year many thousands more attempt or contemplate suicide, harm themselves or suffer alone, afraid to speak openly about how they are feeling.
Our vision is for a society which speaks openly about suicide and has the resources to help young people who may have suicidal thoughts.
PAPYRUS believes that many young suicides are preventable and that no young person should have to suffer alone with thoughts or feelings of hopelessness.
