Throughout 2025 Dice Consulting Engineers Ltd employees will be undertaking various challenges / events to raise money for our Charity of The Year - Brighter Futures Through Sport.

As always Leading by Example the first of these challenges will be undertaken by myself completing the London and Paris Marathon's within two weeks of each other in April 2025!

What started out as a simple goal to get healthier and leaner has turned into something much bigger. With the big day(s) fast approaching the nerves are kicking in and I'm starting to wonder if I've bitten off more than I can chew......

For those that know me well, you'll remember that after co-founding Dice and starting a young family, my fitness took a serious backseat. The weight slowly crept on and I realised just how much I'd let things slide.

Fast forward a few years and as I approached my 40th birthday earlier this year, I had what can only be described as a full-on midlife crisis and after running a few half marathons decided to take on the challenge of a full marathon, despite never having run one before and then signed up for TWO! This is going to be a serious test and I have no doubt it is going to push me to my absolute limits!

However this challenge is about more than just a personal achievement. With social funding being cut, it is more important than ever to support grassroots initiatives that make a real difference. That's why I will be running to raise funds for Brighter Futures Through Sport a fantastic local charity helping to provide opportunities for young people in schools across Nottinghamshire and have chosen them as our Charity of the Year 2025.

Every single penny that is donated will go directly to the charity. I'll be covering all costs to attend each of the events.

If you can spare a donation it will go along way towards ensuring they can continue their vital work.

Wish me luck...... I think I'm going to need it!
