Wayne's fundraiser for Kelly's Heroes

Charity cycle ride · 6 September 2025
Hi, I’m Wayne Riley
On the 6th September I will be cycling from the Rock of Gibraltar back to the UK. Along with a team of Kelly's Heroes who will cycle approx.
1250 miles over 14 days through extreme temperature, climbing around 60,000 ft over challenging mountains and hills. We will be raising vital funds and awareness for suicide prevention. I would especially like to raise awareness within the construction industry where I have worked for 40 Years.
This cause is deeply personal to me. Every week in the UK, more than two construction workers take their own lives. That’s not just a statistic – that’s fathers, sons, brothers, and mates. Our industry is built on strength, but when it comes to mental health, too many men suffer in silence.
It’s time we start talking.
Construction is a tough job, and the pressure to “man up” or “get on with it” can be overwhelming. But mental health struggles aren’t a weakness – they’re a reality. The stigma around opening up is costing lives, and we need to change that.
That’s why I’m taking on this challenge – over 1,250 miles on the bike – to start conversations, raise awareness, and support the amazing charities working on suicide prevention and mental health support for construction workers.
Your support means everything. Whether it’s a donation, a share, or a message of encouragement, it helps push me forward – and more importantly, it helps save lives.
Let’s ride for change. Let’s ride for the men who feel like they have no one to talk to. Let’s ride for those we’ve lost, and those still fighting.
Thank you for your support ❤️
Wayne
