What is The Berlin Wall race?

From 2011 on, the Berlin Wall Race commemorates the victims of the former border, which separated Germany between 1961 and 1989. The course follows the former border strip, that makes a little over 161 kilometers around western Berlin. The patron is the former GDR civil-rights activist Rainer Eppelmann.

In 2023 the Berlin Wall race will take place on the 12th and 13th of August and will commemorate Erna Kelm.
